We have been so busy this week designing and making bunting with S1 to S6. Each pupil was given the same brief: to design a summer themed bunting triangle using their skills in either pencil, pastel, marker pen or Serif. The department is now covered in bunting and we love it!
The first 2 have been found, 3 to go. Can you find this one tomorrow? 🙂
We’ve been inspired by ‘Love Rocks Inverness’ and have decided to do our own Tech Rocks to count us down to the Summer holidays.
5 days to go and the sun is already out…
Last term, both National 4/5 classes worked incredibly hard to design and make their final assignments. Each pupil was given the option to design a bird feeder, photo/memo holder or organiser and the inspiration was ‘Amazing Structures’. Do you recognise any of these?
We have established a tradition for the S3 BGE Design & Manufacture classes to finish the third year course with a chocolate project!
Pupils design and make MDF formers that they then vacuum form to produce plastic moulds. This is a technique used in lots of different areas of industry for mass production. Our classes then spent a period in Home Economics melting chocolate and using their plastic moulds to produce solid chocolate versions of their designs – it was very successful!
Well done to both classes of S3 BGE Woodwork, who completed their final project in third year – a small table. It is a complicated model, including mortise and tenon joints, dowel joints and chamfering. Both classes did a great job, and chose a range of different finished for their table tops.
