2.6 have recently finished their memo holder designs. For this project they have been developing their skills and knowledge from S1 Practical Woodwork. They had the opportunity to create a personalized front piece and manufactured a more challenging joint for the back of the memo holder. This practical project sets them up for Practical Woodwork which they can choose in S3.
They look great! Well done 2.6.
…..to all out Senior Phase classes, who are starting their final assignments.
Well done to class 1.1 who have just completed their post-it note holders. They have all worked very hard and done an excellent job, making sure their models are accurate and finished well with no pencil marks! 1.1 are now moving on to a metalwork project.
S3 Pupils have been working hard to finish their tealight holder project. The project has 3 cross halving joints which can be challenging to cut. Pupils also had to practice chamfering, drilling and varnishing. They all look great! Now onto the mini chair project…
Don’t forget that ’12 days of Techy Christmas’ starts on Thursday 7th December. Find the Santa or snowman to win the Sharpie of the day. Good luck 🙂
Our Higher Design and Manufacture pupils have been model making machines of late!
They were tasked with making 6 models in 90 minutes, that’s just 15 minutes a model! Often pupils feel that everything they make in class should be perfect but this lesson was an exercise in proportion, not perfection. The results were fantastic and we learned that there is a time for perfection….and sketch modelling isn’t it!
Well done everyone 🙂
